How to check if you are shadowbanned
- Check Account status. Profile, then the menu, then Settings and privacy, then Account, then Account status. A banner saying your account is ineligible for the For You feed is the clearest answer you will get. If it says your account is in good standing, TikTok has not restricted it.
- Check single videos. Open your Posts tab. A video tagged as not eligible for the For You feed is restricted, and TikTok shows which rule it tripped and whether you can appeal.
- Search yourself while logged out. Open your profile and recent videos in a logged-out browser or on a friend's phone. If they do not appear, and your posts are missing from the hashtag pages you used, that is a strong sign of restricted reach.
- Compare your views. A sudden fall in views across many videos at once, with the same posting habits, points to an account-level problem. One flat video does not.
What usually causes it
- Community Guidelines strikes. A removed or flagged video can restrict that video, or the account if it repeats.
- Unoriginal content. Reposted clips, watermarked videos from other apps and near-duplicate content are commonly deprioritized.
- Spam-like behavior. Mass following and unfollowing, repetitive comments, or automation tools that log in as you.
